Age of wonder planetfall forums10/4/2023 ![]() ![]() Land Squij which would be a melee only scout unit. They would have a crossbow, a sword, and some sort of ability to vault walls and enemies staggering them. ![]() Their armies would include humans and land squid known as squij because it amused me that would use modified psifish sprites.įreemen who would be basic infantry unit a bit like the Syndicate Scavengers. I never figured out what special mechanics they would have but I did work some on theirnunits. Now with the Unions demise a nebulous prophecy has been fulfilled and the more or less Fremen now step forward to sieze their destiny. What I came up with was more or less the Fremen who lived on the fringes of backwater worlds where they were ignored by the Star Union. A while ago before the Star Kings expansion I brainstormed a faction that could be added. ![]() Otherwise, I hadn't played with the Shakarn before, and found a fun combo for them in the Xenoplague Secret Tech. To the game itself, holy crap are the Oathbound awesome for Celestians! Which makes sense, but still, it's really nice to see a Secret tech that could be hard to use in the base game work really well in an expansion pack. And look, it's fine for both of those games, but, it can be a bit exhausting when it feels like almost everything is like that. I feel like Stellaris is never going to reach that stage, for the sake of comparison, or Europa Univeralsis 4, both of which feel like they could be in development for eternity without the developers really being satisfied with it. I don't think they're going to make a Planetfall 2, so I really enjoy the game precisely because it feels like the developers did everything they wanted to with the game, and finished it. I'd actually say Planetfall feels like a relief in an age where it feels like games are in development for eternity, because from what I understand, the game is done.
